Testing a Support Role?
Our project management team has decided that the QA/Testing role will be a support role, not a member of the core project team. Just curious as to what y'all think of this philosophy.

In your company, what does it mean to be "a support role" versus being in the "core project team"?
Did they give any reason for their decision?
It may be a bad philosophy, or it may just be a difference without a distinction.
