Ah. Sorry. I realise now it's Texas that has the extreme weather and we have only one Texan on the boards. However, 5 hours removing ice seems pretty extreme to me. Good old Gulf Stream that makes our UK weather so much more temperate.
Personally, I think that the weird weather is really happening in Australia at the moment. Bad weather in winter is expected but, in Aus - in sumemr, High temps (up towards 40C and above) and very dry days in mid severe drought, mixed with Torrential rain and Floods.
Wow! Snow in summer's certainly weird in my book, especially in the tropics. I'm amazed this hasn't been mentioned on our news, since we hear about bush fires and the Darwin tidal wave a few Chritmases ago but maybe floods are just not news any more.
Any thoughts about the cold European neighbour of the UK? The capital of EU is extemely cold for me, but they say its just moderate tempearature now... -4C is the average since the last two weeks here.
Went to Amsterdam this Christmas and that too was no better.
I came here about 3 months back and from where I come its never below 10C ...ever.
