I wouldn't mind if my memories ONLY went back to watching launches on TV. Bad enough that I remember debating in school the morality of sending a dog into space (with no way to bring it back alive), but I also remember when the only stories of space travel were just that - stories. (Right now, I am listening to one of the "Journey Into Space" series - "World In Peril." It was broadcast well within my lifetime, but long before the scriptwriters had a clue about the reality of space travel).
Rich, I do! I was knee-high to you and wondered if you would offer me a sip of the champagne before your cracked each bottle across the bows. I also noticed that like you, the Santa Maria had the same misspelling on its stern.
