Sadly when you move away from a more technical job involving a hint of coding or scripting to one that involves more talking than typing it is considered an evolution. Just like evolving from a fit caveman hunter to a fat couch potato.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">I would say that trying to adapt to an environment which is changing or will change is not the best idea. Trying to adapt to the environment as it will be in (near) future will give you more chances. Sometimes it's relatively easy to how the environment is changing.
Influencing the environment to fits you... would be even better.
