Actually, I would agree about asking about this, and this probably speaks to the "general" nature of General Discussion. What does "general" mean? I think that moving this here would fit AJ's idea of what QAChat was meant to be, given other posts he has made: a forum for chatting about quality-related topics. That is part of what we were discussing in the other threads: the focus of QAChat. (AJ: I do not mean to speak for you, so correct me if I am wrong or misstating.)
In relation to this post and with the realization that we have some vagueness, consider that the description of General Discussion on the site is given as:
"Got a general software testing or miscellaneous quality assurance / QA topic (which does not belong to another more specific forum)?"
The description of QAChat is given as:
"Get to know your testers with open chitchat."
With that in mind, where does this post actually belong? To me, it certainly sounds like General Discussion. This post is not meant to "get to know your testers" but it is a potential "QA topic".
This is exactly what I meant about us looking at what we mean by the various forums, having stable guidelines that are adhered to and consistently applied. In our QA practice, we often have to make sure that people are on the same page as regards what things mean and how terminology is used. There is no reason why we should not be doing that same thing on a site dedicated to QA.
Public US Companies
If you are working on an accounting system or web site for a public company in the US, you might want to keep an eye on some SEC proposals.

I'd say that both of these articles are very pertinent not only to companies, but to QA professionals, as it's likely they'll impact how we test, and what we have to test in the future.
