If you're having difficulty with getting developers to help out on testing, threaten them with a spell on the support desk. Or worse still, documentation. [img]/images/graemlins/smile.gif[/img]
Any developers I've had work for me, I'd always rotate into all of the above reasonably regularly, primarily to broaden their perspective. When time is tight, and a release is due to go out, everyone gets involved in testing. This is the case for most small software houses I've come across, where seperation of roles is more blurred than in larger shops.
