Just about done building a new PC. I've used an earlier version of Ubuntu and generally liked it. I'd like to install Linux on it until I get Windows 7.
So, which flavor of Linux do you like?
Ubuntu for desktops. CENTOS for Servers.

Thanks much, James! I plan on going w/ Ubuntu unless someone makes me aware of something much better I'm missing out on.
Good comparison of the top 4 flavors here--> http://studyjava.org/general/types-of-linux-os

UBUNTU has been great in the side systems I have. I have one system which is Windows 7 with a Quad-core for my main photography system, but the others (desktop and laptop systems) I just don't want to pony up for a windows license.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
I run Ubuntu on all my home systems. Highly recommended.
Thanks, Guys. I might even dual boot Ubuntu and Windoze 7 if I get ambitious. ;-)
Here's some irony, I would seriously consider moving from Windows to Linux entirely. But the only thing keeping me on Windows? iTunes, an Apple product. ;-)
The only thing keeping me on Windows 7 on my netbook instead of Ubuntu is an embedded cellular modem which is only supported on Windows 7.
But now I have a USB Sniffer! I just need to find the time to sniff the USB download of the firmware and figure out how to apply it under Ubuntu.
