During a need for fresh air, I was looking at various cars of varying ages. Headlights have changed so much.
I know we have halogen and xenon now with regards the bulbs, but all the intricate housings, tubes, etc. Are they merely cosmetic or do they actually improve the lighting?
They are intended to attract more deer and thus help the auto body repair industry.
I don't know that they help. They do seem to hinder the oncoming driver a bit more.
I used to be able to see the road in my first car a Series 2 Ford Escort. It also handled better than my present car.
Interiors and power are about the only real things that have changed. Exterior is just been cosmetic (maybe safety I suppose)
Headlights?? We don't need them here in Denver. The deer over at Rocky Flats (old nuclear weapons facility in NW Denver) glow in the dark so we can see them at night.
