My mother sent me this recipe, and it's so stupidly silly I felt the need to share it.
Ingredients: 1 elephant, brown gravy, salt and pepper, 2 rabbits (optional)
Cut elephant into bite-size pieces. This should take about 3 months. Add enough brown gravy to cover. Cook over kerosene fire for about 4 weeks., or until tender. This will serve 3,800 people. If more are expected, 2 rabbits may be added - but only if necessary, as most people do not like hare in their stew.
I have a cookbook called "Eat a Pet" (Recipes Guaranteed to Ruffle a Few Feathers), with things like "Birdie on a Bun", "Chihuahua Chili", and "Offal on a Waffle". I take it out now and then (usually after one of my animals have heaved up on something right before I have company), and it still makes me laugh...
