Bug in the forums error message!

So I was writing a new post and titled it "Leaving a job....". I attempted to submit it and got the following error: [See attachment]

Click "OK", because I know it doesn't conflict with the rules and won't have my account disabled. The box disappears, my thread is not submitted. I attempt to submit it again, same error message.

So "OK" is displaying the same behaviour as "Cancel".

Have tried to replicate this and what I would say is as follows:

The heading of your subject does conflict with what's allowd..... "job"

There appears to be no functionality behind the "Ok" button so therefore there may be an issue although I am not sure what the intended functionality should be.

Jean/ AJ, will be better placed to confirm this

What if "OK" does something behinds the scenes? So, to the user/blackboxtester it appears to acts the same, but on the server side, the system may do something different.

For example, the system may email the message to a moderator for approval before posting. Or it may flag your account as an "enemy combatant."

Well if it does that then there is a problem with the error message. "Do you wish to continue" implise that....You are going to be allowed to continue posting your message but you are not able to.

So either way its one for Jean/AJ

Well, I am a moderator, and I can tell you that I don't get any such email. But you're right - there may be something happening behind the scenes that we're not aware of.

Re: Bug in the forums error message!

I put together the original JavaScript code for AJ to screen out "undesirable" subject words. My original design allowed the user to continue, under my assumption that there might be valid occaisions to use certain proscribed words. When AJ merged the code into his site, I believe he decided to remove that possibility and just disallow it, period.

AJ: I think the simple fix would be to change the confirm() method call to an alert() call.
