Well I'd completed the review and sent back my comments before your cheeky reply (didn't even use the word retort to describe your response wasn't that sweet of me).
But you obviously don't want to be let down here.
Should they be using a Mercury product
It's a Load Test Plan not a Tool Evaluation.
Are they using a Mercury product
Is LoadRunner the right tool?
There's no such thing. The important thing is that they do not use the wrong tool.
Did I puff and snort and turn into a hairy toad because they were using LoadRunner.
No. In fact I never gave it a 2nd thought. You and I have agreed before it is a superior product.
So is LR the wrong tool then?
Well I'll let you know as soon as they update the Plan and include a section describing the system architecture.
What do I think of CMM Level 5 companies
They are brilliant and should be given all IT consultancy work.
Be nice if they checked that the protocol they are running is compatible with the test tool they chose. Good thing CMM Level 0 objective wooks is reviewing this ay
[I]Is the client going to save money doing this[i]
If RelQ put in a fixed price bid they'll save heaps. Someone is going to have to shell out $80k for the plug-in they are going to need to do this.
A plug-in? Is that going to make it more complicated
Yep. For one thing it's a different scripting language to mongrel C but hey thats no bad thing. Mercury clients are used to having a different language with every tool. I'm sure Relq will just rise to the occasion.
I wasn't attempting to debate your ability, or to assert you couldn't make the evaluation fairly - your responses and posts in the Automated Testing forum have more than shown your knowledge and ability.

LOL... I actually came on to see Jeff's response to the political conversation - I was fairly sure he'd disagree with me on the Electoral College.
But I'm really going now... 4am is going to come early tomorrow morning, and I have to finish packing!!
