looking for some (simple?) help for Oracle Enterprise Manager ?
We create lots of Oracle databases (which Oracle calls users) during our automated testing.
I have sysdba access to Oracle Enterprise Manager 11g (this is their web app).
I'm not an Oracle dba, I just want to delete our old databases before the server runs out of space.
I go to Users and the option for deleting is 'single'.
I click delete and I am prompted if I really want to delete the user with the 'cascade' option.
I say yes, the database is deleted, all is good.
Except I have to delete hundreds of the databases.
So I select the 'multiple' option and it asks me to if I really want to delete the user - it doesn't say the 'cascade' option is on.
So I click yes and I get the error
ORA-01922: CASCADE must be specified to drop 'FS11003200SEEDDPWCI'
So the questions I have which I'd be thrilled to death to have answered here;
Is this a bug in Oracle Enterprise Manager that cascade isn't on?
If it is not a bug, how do I get Oracle Enterprise manager to delete multiple users with the delete option?
My realistic expectation question;
Does anyone have any idea of where I can post this question and get an answer? Is this an Oracle equivalent of this forum?
I'm looking to delete databases as easily as possible. If anyone has a better idea - with the code or whatever to back it up, I'd surely be interested.
Thanks in advance, I appreciate it, I've been searching and haven't found anything.
I gave up and wrote a vbscript to delete the databases, but if anyone know of the Oracle Enterprise manager stuff, I'd really like to know.
