Sure it is, but I can't say I'm surprised. With the "Capitalist Above All Else" attitude surely this can't be a surprise to anyone! I actually chuckle a little because they say "barbarian", but I actually liken us to cavemen more often. Discovering fire for the first time, inventing the wheel, eating cooked meat. These are all great, but we're not the innovators we like to think we are. We burn ourselves, we lose wheel after wheel by letting go of it on a steep slope. We will sit down in front of the TV and laugh at television shows that are loaded with cause and effect humor, but then we go and stick a knife in the toaster. Oh, oh yeah, and then we sue the toaster maker.
Now, on that note, it really isn't the investors who care about the consequences. As long as they get their money they're happy. So this is the capitalist attitude that needs to change up a little.
9 out of 10 people I prove wrong agree that I'm right. The other person is my wife.
And then we reinvent all those items and sell them again under a new title. Even when it's really the same old crap! I read of a fictional religious order who's ordained mission it was to monitor all inventions and discoveries and then rebuke them based on historical records about where they had already been invented and reinvented eons in the past. Therefore, their claim to fame was that nothing in the world is really new.
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.
