I think it is well-documented that economic hard times create sufficient desperation such that burglaries and robberies, etc. increase. What preventive steps are you taking or have you taken to make your domicile a less desirable target of such activities?
In addition to a “community watch” model and a security system, I contemplated the following:
1. A 10,000 watt sound system that will auto-queue and play any B Spears song
2. A lawn-based sign stating, “This home is powered by Windows Vista ™”. Then I realized the security holes and sluggishness just might make me a prime target.
3. A lawn-based sign stating, “Have not yet received nor expect any economic stimuli.”

Still it all depends on what you want, I had an offer to go start a test group in Tokyo many years ago, as attractive as it was in the end I was not that interested in going that far away from where my friends and family were.
