Football!!!

Steelers are the team to beat at the moment... Is it time to start decorating the other hand with rings?

Will the Pats want Brady back? Will anyone want Vick back? What about Plexiglass? Whats gonna happen to Shaun Alexander? Will Detroit be 0-16?

Re: Football!!!

Wow! Ok, here we go.

Are the Steeler's contenders? Yes, definitely. Are they the best in the league? I don't know. It's so closely matched this year, which is great. I love the competition. I think they probably have the one of the best defenses in the league, but I still question the ability of their offense to score points against tougher defenses.

Yes, the Pats will definitely want Brady back. I mean you've established that you have a great back-up, and maybe a future star, but you need your general.

I can think of a lot of teams that would want Vick. I mean why wouldn't he sign with the Raiders? They love their bad boys. Then, there are any number of horrible teams that would take him. Plus, as we've seen in past movies such as The Longest Yard, going to jail helps athletes become their best.

What can you say about Plexiglass? He's stupid. That's fine, though, I mean you're asking him to run fast and catch balls. My dog is smart enough to do that. Who cares if he's dumb as long as he puts points on the board. I can't even believe this was blown up into such a story considering what goes on in the NFL every day.

Shaun Alexander = cooked. Done. Shelf him. He had a good career. I mean he had a good year.... once.

Yes, the Lion's will be 0-16. However, they're hopes of going completely winless will be shattered when they win in the Superbowl.

You forgot about one story that had lots of hoopla, but has since died off. Here's a pop quiz. Would you rather be 9-5 or 5-9? I know, it seems like an easy question. Maybe we should ask Mike McCarthy about this one. <-- Brett Favre reference for anyone that missed it.

I like Shaun... many, many star RBs go on to be backups on other teams (Ahman Green, Rudi Johnson, Warrick Dunn to name a few this year)

He got hurt last year but played through it

I think most of the people I listed above are worse than Shaun

Football? Eh, who cares?
Although forget about the Steelers...the NFC will win.

Oh, and the Giants are the reigning Superbowl Champs...just wanted to make that clear.

College Basketball...now that is where it's at. Anyone watching the Tennesse/Marquette matchup tonight? Should be a fantastic game! Thank goodness for college b-ball, a game to watch everynight instead of one game a week. BLEAH!

I don't understand why you guys call this game football. How often is the ball in contact with the players foot?

I agree with you....It needs to be called as head-ball... footballers use their heads more than their feet to make a goal! they use their chest also LOL.

Probably as often as a baseball is in contact with a base.
Or a rugby ball is in contact with a rug.

Re: Football!!!

... so ... perhaps the punters and the kick-off specialists are the only players who can state, "I play football."

Some stadiums have artificial turf. Artificial turf is commonly called "rug". These sports athletes of some unidentifed sport are "playing" on carpet (aka rug).

What does all this mean?
