How to check throughput
in one case i need to test that throughput is 144Kbps.i know it this way.
i will send the file start the timer.recieve the file in another PC and stop the timer once its reached.one upon time difference will give me throughput.but its adhoc way.
actually i need to check throughput of CDMA system

If all you are testing is network throughput, you may want to consider specialized test equipment. Spirent is an example of a company that has this type of equipment. Our networking folks have used some of their equipment in the past and it seems to do a pretty good job.
If you're looking for application throughput, i.e. user experience, I suggest you read several of Scott Barber's articles (www.perftestplus.com). Scott does a good job of explaining what is important to the end user and how to go about testing it.
