C++ application with oracle backend
I need to test a C++ application with a backend in oracle for performance.It is a work flow management application where in I need to create 1000 VUsers in Unix environment and do the performance monitoring for Database and application server.How do i measure the SGA(System global Area) and how do i use Oracle StatSpack as well as Mpstat in this regard.How do i go about writing shell scripts in unix to generate 1000 users.I would appreciate a detailed explanation.Thanks
Re: C++ application with oracle backend
Ah, enough questions for a full-time consulting engagement.
Why don't you first break up you questions a bit more and provide us a bit more information.
For instance, your C++ clients, where do they run? Are the processes on your UNIX server or do they run from other client machines. Right now I do not understand your perceived need for writing UNIX shell scripts to generate the 1000 VU.
Have you thought about the scenarios that you want/need to simulate and how they relate to future real life usage.
On monitoring a database, it is typically wise to get a dedicated DBA and UNIX sysadmin involved. They will know what they want to monitor.
Anyway, provide us some more information to allow us to give you some to-the-point tips.
