Right now we are developing an application for trading system and which will be ready for final load testing in a couple of weeks. We are right now under confusion that how the application will be tested for performance.
The application is being developed in pure java.
Is there any chance to test the load mannually?
What tool would be suitable for load testing of this application?
The manual test of Load Testing is olden days they use to do, but still you have enough employees to do so you can do for example: If you have to test your application for a load of 100 users per hour you need to access the application by 100 employees in your office and with that load you have to see your performance level and test the application.
The entire task of test of Load & performance testing will be very easy when you use automated testing tools. For testing the java based application you can go for eg., Load Runner,WebLoad,Silk,eLoad, visual performance studio etc., are the competitive tools available in the marked for testing applications.
hope the above information makes sense to your question
just to let you know that my company started using Silk Performer a while ago and it has proved to be a great success (our product is a web-based database so performance is crucial). I have not been involved in this project myself, but i have been hearing great thnigs from the guys who are.
