We are trying to do some very basic performance/stability tests between a Java applet (in a browser) and a Visibroker 3.4 ORB.
The tests should involve 5-30 (or perhaps a little more...) "virtual users" performing different tasks during a full week. Reporting of failed runs, time of execution, resource usage as well as recording capabilities and Unix or WinNT platforms are on the wishlist too
Does anyone know any tool that would be suited to do such a thing? Perhaps we should build it ourselves since we dont necessarily need all the functional and regression testing stuff but we have limited resources so I'd prefer hearing about other alternatives first. Perhaps its also just too much to ask...I haven't been around for long so I'm seeking advices here.
Thanks a bunch!

I've done my share of Corba testing, there are few tools which work nicely with Corba,
LoadRunner and Silk Performer.
I've seen different cases where one toll was performing better that another one, but this is depends on application.
This tools will allow you to record, update and play back. There are some cases when recording does not work, but since you are using VisiBroker (pretty common orb) both of them should be able to handle it.
If you actually testing CORBA SilkPerformer will work just fine, but if you testing RMI over IIOP you may want to look at LoadRunner.
Both tools are pricey.
agreed. only tools i have seen are lr and sp have fun with iiop
