I am a guy new to the load/stress testing...not having enough time to explore abt the same....
I would like to know some information about load/stress testing a web application which is in the intranet..
I would like to know the standards, on the basis of which..when met...we can say that the application/webserver is handling the load/stress.
Also please provide me with the variables that i need to record/observe during the test..
Try doing a search. There are also threads dedicated to load and stress tools that might be helpful. It sounds like you may need some training. You are basically asking "How do I load and stress test." Sorry there is no easy answer for that one. I have been doing it for over a year now and I still do not know the exact answers to your questions.
As we like to say in QA, it all DEPENDS.
If you do not like what I have said, then you can go outside and play hide and go f@%& yourself.
Well, of course you can start here at this site searching. You can also try: http://www.qacity.com/testtype/load_articles.html
There are some articles to get you started and to get you linked to sites where you can find what you need.
And oh yeah, definitely get a book.
