We are currently using Loadrunner to test our e commerce site. We have been contacted by two firms called Facilita and compuware who wish to demonstrate their performance testing tools. Has anyone any experience of either of these companys tools and whether they are better/worse than Loadrunner.
Thanks in advance
I am not very familiar with Facilita tools, but our company did evaluate Compuware's tools. In the end, we found that LoadRunner suited our needs. You need to ask yourself if LoadRunner meets your needs. If it does, then why spend more on other workload tools. If not, then maybe you should consider checking into other tools. Either way, it can't hurt to listen to a sales pitch (unless you buy something you don't need).
The main advantages for Forecast from Facilita is it is cheaper, has a lower memory footprint per virtual user so more virtual users per test box and the scripting language can use Java or C++.
It has less bells and whistles compared to Loadrunner but it will achieve the same results.
Facilita are a small company and so are usually more willing to help out. I have not used QAload for years so I cannot comment on recent changes but it's only advantage back in the day was its integration with Compuwares ecotools for enterprise (network) management.
