As James says, it depends entirely on what performance metrics you are trying to measure. Some examples;
- Mobile devices are often connected to a corporate network via 3G / GPRS / or WiFi connections. You may wish to examine thin client application response times using different carrier media, available bandwidth and various interference factors.
- Mobile devices tend to have slower processors than desktop computers, you may wish to measure application timings for a range of scenarios.
- Mobile devices tend to have less memory and storage resources than desktop computers. You may wish to measure memory and resource usage for a range of scenarios.
