linux cpu monitoring for 4 core cpu using vmstat
Can I use vmstat for cpu monitoring where the linux server is having 4 core cpu ,
As i observed that the cpu_user, cpu_sys,cpu_wait , the readings in vmsatat are too low 0 to 3 , even i ran a long 12 hr test.
so doubtfull whether for 4 core cpu vmstat unable to collect the cpu data ?
does anyone knows more about the vmstat monitoring interpretations
Re: linux cpu monitoring for 4 core cpu using vmstat
yes, you can use vmstat on multi-core or other SMP systems.
you will see averages of the cores' cpu times displayed.
