Performance Testing with Java Applets
Is there any tool which can be used for java applets? Basically I am looking for a "value for money" tool which can monitor the performance.
Protocol is HTTPS.
I am pretty new to this and I will appreciate any helping tips from old foxes outta there...
Re: Performance Testing with Java Applets
Java applets have been a bit of a pain for us. There are two types of tests you need to run on these types of systems, one that stresses the backend servers and one that measures user response time.
For the backend servers, we write Java scripts that mimic the key portions of the applet's logic, then play the scripts back through Rational PerformanceStudio (or whatever it's called today). While we're running these scripts with 100's of virtual users, we monitor the backend servers & network to see how they're doing.
For the user response time testing, we use the functional side of the Rational tools and do a distributed functional test. We get 6-10 PCs running at the same time, then pull the timers from all of them together and analyze that data.
Hope this helps.
