What factors do we need consider while performance testing the windows based application?

    Re: Performance testing Windows application

The answer to your question depends on what you mean by "Windows application".

Are you talking about a client/server architecure with a thick client? Or are you talking about a standalone application for windows?

If it is a fat client, you have to consider different protocols. Clients could use ODBC, Native database connection, Tuxedo, RPC etc.
Support for these protocols is typically not found in the opne source products since they almost exclusively focus on Web applications.

I think what I mean by 'Windows application' is 'thick' client with client/server architecture

Tell us more about the application architecture, this might provide some insight into the recordable/programmable interfaces. For instance, is this an oracle application? Does the application architecture involve the use of middleware (and from which vendor)?
