# of Users vs # of Transactions
I'm faced with a situation at work, we have 2 live sites that we've been able collect traffic data about.
One site had a high of 27K of subscriptions, most of these coming in a 3hr section during a 24hr period, the other site has a maximum number of transactions of 2K.
I use SilkPerformer 5.1 and I basically deal in number of users, n. of users per scenario, etc.
Any ideas on how to translate the number of users to transactions? The request is a little open ended I know but I've seen only one suggestion and I didn't feel confident about it.
Sorry I'm not able to give you much more information but any help is appreciated.
Re: # of Users vs # of Transactions
Most of them in 3 hours? What is most 80%?
Let's assume 80%.
So 80% of 27000 = 21600
21600 /3 = 7200 per hour.
if the average activity takes 5 minutes the total activity is 7200 * 5 = 36000 minutes but since all were supported in 1 hour = 60 minutes we can calculate that the average concurrent users = 36000/60 = 600.
Also you can bet your life that your peaks are 1.5-2 your average so that will be between 900 and 1200 concurrent users.
Is this what you were looking for?
If you want the amount of transactions, I suggest you take a look at your log files or your database.
