Could somebody give me the definitions of what is Unit Test, and what is equivalence class.
Re: Term definition
This probably belongs more in the functional testing or unit testing forums but
from my understanding....
Unit testing is testing each component or module individually. This is usually done by the programmer, however QA can and does do this as well. (i.e. X-treme testing, a component is moved out and the QA member tests the component as code is moved out)
Equivalence class would be if you have a set of test cases that are related and if one of those test cases failed then all of them should failed. So essentially it taking a subset of objects that are related and should have the same outcome. (I think the root of this is from mathematics)
