I need to test a CRM software called Commence.
So, I use to work with QALoad from Compuware based on TCP protocol.
My problem is simple ... The CRM uses SMB.
Then do you know solution to capture and simulate SMB. Soft or tips.
SMB is a protocol for sharing files, printers, etc. I typically use Samba (which uses the SMB protocol) where a UNIX machine acts as the server and a Windows machine acts as the client. What is your application doing with SMB? Writing files? If it is just writing files, you can simulate that pretty easily. If you want to see what something is doing on a network level, you can easily run a packet sniffer (like ethereal on UNIX) and see what is going on. Once you figure out what is going on, you can probably figure out some way to simulate it. You may have to write some program to do it. Not sure if there are any canned, out-of-the-box applications that simulate it. Hope this helps.
