Free Performance Tools

    Hi All,

I was just wondering if anyone could suggest a good free performance tool that i could use for my Java App, it's not web based and all the tools i find seem to be for web based apps. I came across JMeter but i'm not too impressed so far but maybe i'm not using it to it's full potential.

    Hope someone can help

    Re: Free Performance Tools

I think JMeter is excellent, although I only used it for web based apps so far.

    Re: Free Performance Tools

Same problm is what I am facing, I have an Server Client application that runs on Intranet to the Max, I need a performance(or say load testing) tool, for this app.

http load is what all tools provide, if anyone can let us know, the tool for testing the kind of application, i mentioned above.

there are probably some free open source ones out there. I cant remember for sure, but believe eclipse.org had one.

    Re: Free Performance Tools

You maybe can find something for specific cases - check http://www.opensourcetesting.org/performance.php for example - but for a generic tool you probably need something commercial like LoadRunner or SilkPerformer.
