We have just been through a grueling upgrade with our loan servicing system which is mostly vendor owned. We support and maintain all the interfaces to this system. We need to implement on our Unix boxes (4) a load tool that will simulate approx. 1000 users. We currently have licenses for QACenter which has QALoad with it. I am looking for someone who has had the experience of loading this tool onto the server and also how long it had taken for this tool to be up and operational from beginning to end. Feedback please.
Re: Load Testing
AAhhhh, how long will it take you to learn how to use Dreamweaver, MacroMedia, (insert your S/W package here).
The answer really is in the resources that you have available to you. If you have someone who is familiar with that package, then you should be up and running in less than 2 months. Maybe even in 2 weeks.
If you don't have anyone familiar with the package, then this timeline is drawn out indefintely.
Getting the s/w loaded on the server should be rather trivial (max 2 days) since you probably already have the instructions.
Making it do what you want to do is another story... after all it is still a compuer and computers are dumb. They only do what you tell it to do. Now you have to find a smart person who can translate for the computer.
What are your goals for the test tools?
