Hi Roland,

I came across your excerpt for performance Methodology from 2001, I believe. I would like to adapt your findings.

You do have something updated for Performance Methodology?

Did you publish a book that contains all your performance documentation?

Thanks

bman,

I have updated my approach quite a bit since 2001, but have not made the effort to publish it in any way or form.

I would be more than happy to review your adaptations.

Please contact me privately at rstens@stens.ca

Thanks

Hello Roland,

I'm new to performance and load testing. I really don't have much knowledge or have not adopted anything. I do not have anything for anyone to reivew.

This is the reason,if I may please have a current version of your established documentation.

Re: Roland Stens

Well, I am happy to work with you if you are able to do some work as well. The more work you put in, the more you will receive back.

You can start with some reading.
Scott Barber's web site at http://www/perftestplus.com is a really good start.

Then develop some of your ideas in an outline and bring them here for discussion. I bet the with the work done by you initially we will be able to help you.
Please do not expect a complete handover of everything that I produced on performance testing. That's not how it works.

We need to understand your context, your ideas, your goals in order to help you.

Well, maybe BMAN is not so interested in doing some work himself. That's too bad, but not unexpected.

Hello Ronald,

I have was away last week. Actually, I'm attempting the work myself, Thank you. I just don't feel there is a need to embarrass myself before all of the forum.

Best regards

There's much less embarrassment involved (in my opinion) helping someone along who's willing to actually LEARN as opposed to the majority of requests like these who just wish to be spoon fed.

Feel free to update us on your efforts and good luck!

Re: Roland Stens

The reason this request was initially made was because of some original postings (dated 2001-2002) Roland made in which he states the except about methodologies from his compilation and notes.

My original request was with the intention that Roland might have written a book about Performance Methodology because of his vast experience. I had thought he had written a book which I could have purchased.

If you author and publish a book from which others can learn - is that being spoon fed?

As a new comer to this forum and the industry, as others, I post in accordance with the forum but it's unforunate that veterans have to show off their pride through arrogance.

That pride is undermining what this site stands for.

Re: Roland Stens

I wouldn't consider buying a book and reading it being spoon fed. I also don't think his response was arrogant at all.

What was it that you were expecting that you didn't receive?
