How to load perf counter with WAST

Is there anyone has used Microsoft Web Application Stress Tool for the stress test?

When I am creating a test script, I try to "Add Counter" in WAS. When I press that button, I get the following error in a pop-up window: "Failed to load the perf counters...", and after clicking on "OK", there is the window of "add counter to report" pop-up, but there is nothing in the list of object.

what can i do to solve this problem ?

    regards,

    Yinan

    Suggestion:
To diagnose problem Check if you could able to add Performance Counters directly from Administrative tool -> Computer management.

Re: How to load perf counter with WAST

if i understood, you mean to add performance counters from Administrative tool -> Performances. if so, i tried it, and i can add counters in the Performances.
My OS of PC is XP professional, and i work under a user not administrator, and OS of the web server on which i want to add counters for monitoring the performance is Win2003, in your opinion, is that probably a problem with my OS and the count of user?

Could you able to add Performance counters of your web server through administrative tool?
    If no
You do not have sufficient rights to access performance counters of web servers.

Yes, i can add counters of the web server. It's maybe not a problem of privilege.

Re: How to load perf counter with WAST

We found that WAST can not monitor performance across VLANs at all. If your test bed is in a different domain than your load generator, I think you're SOL.

Unfortunately, perfmon seems to have the same problem when it comes to logging data. We can monitor things across VLANs fine with perfmon, but if we try to use a Counter Log to actually save the data, it doesn't work.

We're still looking for better multi-server monitoring & stats gathering solutions that we can use with The Grinder.
