LoadSim Perf Testing - Exchange Restore Problems
We've been having endless problems with performance testing the impact of activating Blackberry users on our Exchange server clusters. But I'll summarise ...
In order to prepare for the performance test first we created a topology which involves the LoadSim tool creating it's own OU and all the users specified in our W2k domain. Secondly, the Exchange server is 'Initialised' by Loadsim which sets up the mailboxes by sending the first mail to the users new account and adding e-mails, calendar appointments, notes folders etc. so the users are in a realistic state for the test.
Once this was completed we backed up the exchange server so that we could restore to a known state for the start of each test. Here the latest problems start ... the back up got corrupted after lots attempts the decision to re-build the exchange server was made.
Now the LoadSim tool cannot connect to create the mailboxes for the users. Displays the following error:
"DMM2003 server initialisation failed 0x8004011d"
Googling these errors doesn't come up with much more than other folks having the same problems ... and no answers.
I haven't been able to find a great deal about how the LoadSim tool works and how it maps/synchronise it's requests to mailboxes.
Anyone done this kind of work before ?

Re: LoadSim Perf Testing - Exchange Restore Proble
Good luck... we attempted to use LoadSim to do Exchange testing. We hassled with it for 3 or so months on our own, got a Microsoft rep in to take a look at it (didn't work either), and ended up changing scope of the testing and used the Mailstorm client for most of our message generation and ended up creating a custom perl script to inject another variety of messages.
