load testing in the cloud
I have an online app that I would like to test, however my requirements are not like most:
1. I would like to test a number of urls at the same time.
2. I would like to have a report having all of the urls together and separately.
3. I would like to have a simulated user doing actions on a page(i.e. go to a login box and have a number of POST/PUT requests as to simulate a user logging in).
So far i have tried blitz.io and loadimpact and even though they both have nice reporting features they do not really furnish what I am looking for.
Perhaps someone can share some tips on how your service would help me achieve what I am looking for? So far we have used jmeter locally but ultimately we would like to test from the cloud since it would test network latency as well.
I've used SOASTA, mainly because the guy previous to me used it. It has a nice freemium model, where up to a 100 virtual users are free, then you pay for more instances above it. What's nice about SOASTA is it ships an a self contained Virtual Machine that can run on VMWare or AWS. So it's easy to push tests up into the cloud and orchestrate them via a web interface.
