LR-Ajax TrueClient -- GUI based
With the introduction of Ajax Trueclient protocol in Loadrunner which is more GUI based and different from traditional protocols that are been used, do you think that we will see more such things like this? Can we expect more such protocols or tools coming with up with similar sort of technology?
I would think yes. But TruClient is a resource hog. If they can somehow address that issue then tru client would rock.
I hope not. This has been clearly a trend to try to put tools in the hands of less technically capable engineers. The number one failure (by public questions) of LoadRunner deployments is a failure to hire people who have both foundation skills and tool skills. This has been reflected in the abundance of questions on a basic tool concept of correlation and an inability to move forward when automagical correlation failed. These questions expose a complete lack of training in the tool or professional development on the part of the staff. The market has proven time and time again that it will engineer a less effective performance test tool user when vendors chase the singularity of "any business analyst" who can use the tool....effectively.
This is almost a regression in the tool, back to LoadRunner versions 1|2, which were pretty much exclusively drivers for GUI test tools, XRUNNER in the case of the early versions of LoadRunner. If you need GUI, then go to QTP, Citrix or RDP. if you are moving up the stack because if difficulty in mastering core tool skills then you really shouldn't be using the tool.
