Do you know of any scalable stubbing applications?
I am currently assigned to a project in which we are attempting to determine the capacity of our enterprise service bus. Our ESB connects to 30+ different providers both within and external to our company using both web services and MQ based messaging. Again, the primary goal is to determine the capacity of our ESB and ESB alone. What I'd like to do is to stub out all of our 30+ providers to return a static response (or collection of static responses) quickly and easily, however, I'm having some difficulty finding out what the best method would be.
Our company has a QA license for Parasoft's Virtualize application, which provides some very feature rich stubbing services, however, this license only allows 10,000 calls per day (we'll be targeting 100,000+ calls per hour). I tried using soapUI to create some service stubs, and it worked well when I ran with a single service, but when I tried running with 3 concurrent services, it crashed. There didn't seem to be any issues with CPU/MEM/Network/Disk, so I'm not sure why it's crashing, but it's not scaling.
What open source applications do you know of that can be used to both stub out services and is capable of handling large volumes well? I'm most interested in open source application (if possible) because I'd like to show the benefits stubs can provide and because the amount of red tape involved with requesting, testing and procuring paid applications is truly mind boggling.
I would appreciate any help or guidance you could provide in the manner. Thanks!
Iam not sure about open source tools which could provide good stubbing services. You can go for ITKO LISA tool licensed tool. It provides good support for running concurrent services.
Might be easiest to talk with Parasoft about acquiring a larger license temporarily?
