I am trying to compare software performance on two storage system (namely XP12k and hp3par). I ran the test on XP12k storage, the system met SLA requirements. But the same test on hp 3 par is not meeting SLA, also there was no errors during the test.
Can I conclude XP12k is better than the hp3par storage ?
If your requirements on going into the test is that the storage system should meet SLA requirements, then yes, I'd say XP12K is better.
And that's without even knowing what XP12K or hp3par are! :-)
See, it comes down to what the goal of your test is. It seems, just from what you stated, that your performance test is to compare those two systems to a set of requirements and determine by the results which system best meets those requirements. Since only one of the two meets the requirements, then that one is your "best" solution.
It all comes down to the test design and the criteria against which you are measuring.
