Hi, I wan to learn something about web gardening.
I know that if I increse worker process more than one,
this means Web Garden. But it has also disadvantages, as written in msdn help pages. Has anyone experienced this before ? Any suggestions ? For which situations it is hepful ?
Best way is to test it out on your application. If you are seeing through put caps without fully exercising HW, increase the number of worker processes, and see how much throughput you gain. If you are able to bottleneck on CPU, and the rest of the HW stats appear 'normal', adding additional worker processes will gain you nothing, and most likely slightly degrade throughput. Recently had a service I was testing, and able to gain about 40% additional throughput by upping the worker process, but it totally depends on your application and HW, and what you are seeing during the course of testing.
