    Hi Swathi,

Do you need to test through a Citrix session? Can you test just the thick client locally? You'll get different answers based on that.

If you are testing the thick client, which components does the client communicate with, and what are the communications protocols? Web services requests? Java data access libraries?

You can get more help with that info.

Generally Open source performance testing is going to track with Web technologies. Once you get into Thick clients you are going to be headed to commercial.

Re: ThickClient throiugh Citrix - Load testing tool

cirtix will not be incorporated in testing , the benchmark Load performance testing for client/server application for say 1000 users load.

the application has API calls being invoked through http having xml data format .

Which tools support such kind of testing

How to simulate such 1000 users load on cleint server application

Of the tools represented for Load and Performance on SQAForums, which ones has your independent research lead you to believe may be candidates for your performance test?

Re: ThickClient throiugh Citrix - Load testing tool

Yep...Base64...That's how you encode non-text information into a text format like XML. Certainly expected since you're passing TIFF and PDF encoded in the XML.

Doesn't really answer the question on what your own independent research has lead you to believe might be a candidate for producing load based upon your application architecture. Your options certainly expanded through the elimination of the citrix tier and now you are left with reproduction of this xml conversation....

Re: ThickClient throiugh Citrix - Load testing tool

OpenSTA supports HTTP/XML testing. You will need to spend a few $ to get base64 encoding (I sell a modified version that includes large variable support and encode/decode functions for URL and BASE64 encoding. Contact me off list if interested.)
