    Performance Testing for Mobile Banking

Ppl i have some doubts on Performance Testing approach for Mobile Banking testing.

Initally the approach planned for performance testing of the mobile banking application was that we would be using the Jmeter tool on the http application to generate load as per the workload matrix.

But now the development guys are refusing to provide the http application(stating security measures) for performance testing. So i have come to a dead end.

    My queries are...
    1. If the mobile banking application is loaded on to a mobile emulator on my PC, is there a device like GPRS modem which can be connected to my PC to trigger different transactions to generate load. Also please keep in mind that the application has the limitation of only one transaction per second for an account. Hence my connecting device should support more than one SIM or a mobile number since the whole point of performance testing is to generated load more than one transaction.

    2. Or please mention is there an alternative approach to do performance testing

request you guys to respond to this at the earliest. Thanks in advance.
    Regards, Rajkumar.P

Re: Performance Testing for Mobile Banking

What is objective and scope of test?
Mobile app / Network / Server side components. ??

one of the alternative approach is to generate load as per the workload matrix directly on server side components. along with few manual users operating during test to measure end-to-end performance ...but as i mentioned alternatives are depend on our objective and scope

Re: Performance Testing for Mobile Banking

Does your Bank own and control the performance of the GPRS network?

Does your bank own and control the application which is being used across the GPRS network?

Which component (Network or App) should you be concentrating your efforts on based upon what the Bank owns and controls?
