    My problem is
I've been asked to put a load in our application.but right now we are not using any tool for the same.is there any tool which can i use and could create a virtual user and hit the application so that i can see the behavior of the application?
If no tool is available can you guys tell me how can we do this for as manual??

Your quick response would be great full to me as I've need to do perform testing and given code packet to client.

This is something that even the most expensive of tools cannot address. Whatever tool you select for your process you will need to make an investment in training, mentoring, or skilled expertise.

An unskilled individual will take up to seven times as long to conduct the same activities as a skilled person in the use of performance testing tools. You can see it doesn't take very long before the savings from the tool are eaten away in the inefficiency of the use and an organization could just as well had rented an expensive tool and a skilled person to use it.

Re: Looking a tool for stress/Load testing

Can someone recommand an open source test tool, which correlates server metrics (cpu usage, memory) with common client side metrics as response time? As i can see, this feature often only appears in commercial products (wanna use this functionality for my diploma thesis and therefor the budget is quite zero).

Re: Looking a tool for stress/Load testing

OpenSTA works but is a bit bug-ridden and not very updated. I'd go with the Grinder, which is more stable, flexible, scalable and quite easy to use now that you can write load scripts in Python.

Of course, it depends on whether you want point-and-click or can endure a little Python script programming. If you're OK with some scripting, the Grinder is quite nice.

What bugs? Have you reported them on the tracker?

The latest release was in 2008 and it is actively maintained.
