I confused in selecting a performance test tool.
How can i predict which performance test tool is best. And also how can i calculate their performance.

    Re: Best Test tools

They all differ in what technologies they support for the application under test. They also, of course, differ widely in price.

Another variable is their 'footprint': how much processor and memory they use to simulate a single user. This will vary depending on your application, and you will not be able to obtain directly comparable figures from tool vendors. But when you install a tool for evaluation you should experiment with how many users you can simulate from a single machine.

The usability aspects that are most important are scripting language (will your performance testers need to learn a proprietary language; if it's a standard language, do you have relevant skills already within the organisation) and the facilities for analysing results (what data, graphs and reports are available and how do these correspond to the performance characteristics you want to measure).

Finally, the majority of tools are licensed according to the number of virtual users you can run. Remember that you can simulate a large number of 'real' users with one virtual user so do your own calculations for how many you need: don't let the salesman do the calculation for you! Start from the transaction rate you want to achieve and work back from there.

    Re: Best Test tools

    Thanks for ur reply.
As said above a tool which can simulate more number of virtural users in single machine is good one.
Is there is any tool which can send around 250 request within 1 second(ie 250 hits per sec.... ).
Most of the tools have hits per second graphs which shows that tools performance .In Reporting , which graphs will show the server performance.
