The product I am testing is a client-server Web application. Currently I am using the Win Performance Monitor in manual performance testing, but I am looking for a commercial tool that can do this automatically. The tool should be able to do the following:
1) Measure client-side and server-side resource usage (CPU, RAN and network transfers) in each user action
2) Analyze the results by user action (that means that the tool should somehow recall the action name or enable the tester to label it)
3) Save performance history and allow comparing performance on this base
5) Flexible reports/ graphs system (like Displaying client-side and server-side results using the same graphical representation, creating graph that contains results of pre-defined test group, etc).
Does anyone know a tool that meets those requirements?
I have been Rational tools (Robot and Test Manager) for Performance testing and this tools will just do whatever you thought of. It would give u exactly how much response time bet client/server, break-ups,etc...
It gives u a detailed report from which u can analyze the results ..
You are welcome to mail me for further details..
All the best.
I think that TP hit on a strong solution for you. Most load testing tools will generate the types of load against your system, QALoad will do it accurately and cheaply. True integration with the performance monitoring aspect is what is important during and after the testing. Server Vantage supplies granular information from the servers under test, and both tools allow for results to be compared historically. Lastly, there are some network-centric tools under the Vantage umbrella that will provide all the information you would care to know about how your app lives on the wire.
