Howto Calculate the number of concurrent users on the system
New to Load testing ...
I've a query if some one could help me out.
I would like to calculate the total number of concurrent virtual users.I've this formulae with me , which i got from the internet....
1 Test users are created and used by the LoadRunner software to run the scalability tests.
2 Average Response Time = Total Response Time/Number of Test Users.
3 Average Think Time = The average amount of time when test users were between processing tasks and not
stressing the system. In the testing reported in this study, this was any of a number of randomly generated
think times between 1.5 and 15 seconds.
4 Ratio of Test Users to Concurrent Users = Average Response Time/(Average Response Time + Average
5 Number of Concurrent Users = Number of Test Users x Ratio of Test Users to Concurrent Users.
The info which i have with me is
max response time for a page should not be more than 20 secs.
If suppose there are 10K active users on the system, in what way shall i find out how many of them are concurrent..
In the above formulae What should be my total response time??
Could anyone guide on what basis can i find out the number of concurrent users with just this info.
Re: Howto Calculate the number of concurrent users on the system
Average Response Time = Total Response Time/Number of Test Users
I am sorry, but that will not give you a sensible number at all.
Average Response Time(for one activity) = Total Response Time(for that one activity)/Number of measurements
This then invalidates the rest of your formulas.
Where did you get this information? It does not look good to me at all.
