how to record JFC components!!
Does javastar support all of the JFC componenets??
My application uses a lot of them and I am having problems playing back my recorded scripts. Do you have to do something special to tell javastar about the JFC componenets?
Re: how to record JFC components!!
Theoretically JavaStar should support all the JFC stuff, but there are tricks to getting this stuff to work. One of the first concerns is specifying the UI component in target application. In default mode, JavaStar records literal information to identify UI components, and these specifications won't work if something in a window title, for instance, changes. You can get around this limitation by using Regular Expressions instead of the default ones in a JavaStar recording. Regular expressions allow for insertion of a wildcard ( asterisk ) that make the scripts more flexible. To see how to make one of these specifiers go to the ''Record'' tab of the JavaStar project and change the setting from ''Use component names'' to ''Use regular expressions in title''. This will give you an idea of how to use the ''findRE()'' method which works lots, lots better. I can't imagine why Sun has chosen the defaults they have chosen in this respect, but that's the least of what I wonder about Sun these days...
Hope this helps.
