Oh, no questions. I was just wondering if anyone uses that part of the software, and to what degree. I also use it alot. Some of the common things I do is create functions to resuse in all of my scripts. I created one to change the value of certain parameters. The others a bit more complex but I think that the custom page programability makes this software really great.
This is my first project using e-Tester in a significant way. My impression is that if there are dynamic elements in the web pages or if decisions about navigation are required, some VBA coding will be necessary.
We just purchased e-Tester and I have not used the Visual Script editor. I have only been using the GUI aspects to record and playback test cases.
Is there a way to change elements, like login/password for a script that is recorded, with using the Visual Script editor, or with in the GUI? I do not know any way to change parameters that you have already entered.
I suppose it all depends on preference. The Custom Object Test can be handy and for those who want to validate without knowing vba it is a great option. That said, I prefer the vba approach using methods like findelements and also custom variables along with the getcustomvariable for capturing elements. That way I can loop through a lot of elements for validation withough having to use multiple custom tests
