i have a bit of a silly question, i've recorded several scripts that i want to use in a load test, with a databank. so far so good.
but some of the values on the page (ID, post code etc) have to be unique for each run of the processes.
and in e-test i do a run to make sure everything is hunky dorey, but it overwrites the data bank values on the forms with the original recorded data.
i was wondering if there is a way to disable a parameter after its first used to fill in part of a form so that on the next page(refresh/update) the old recorded value doesn't overwrite the data bank value.
this seems like a fairly common need for this sort of tool, but i can find a way to get it to stop it.
thanks in advance
Re: Parameters Overwritting
Make sure the values are not being picked up on the succeeding page. if they are you have to map those on the succeeding page to the DB values as well.
I had this happen before as well. It would set the values to the ampped DB values. Then as the page was accepted it would change them to the recorded values. I never noticed that the next page was recording the initial values as well.
So I had to map in both places. It is silly, but it did work.
