    Saving databanks for a ETestjob

    Hi,

In order for my scrips to be reusable, I want to be able to use different databanks with a script by specifying them at the job level. This way, if I have the same script in a different jobs, the variables will be picked up from the job level databank, making my script reusable.

When I open a Job file in E-Test and associate a databank with the job, I can run the scripts by using this job level databank. However, when I save the job file and reopen it (the job file), I find that the reference to the jobs databank is not retained.

How do I save a job level databank with the job?

Hello. When you say you open a job in e-test, do you mean you open a JOB in e-Manager? jobs can only be handled in e-manager, where as scripts can be opened in e-tester.

    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Actually, eTesterJay, newer versions of e-Tester also have "e-Tester Jobs".

    <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">Yes. Version 8.0 and above, I believe.

Within e-Tester, you can group Scripts into a Job, and run them as a whole.
There's a bit of new Job-Level VBA allowed as well.

Then, you can take that Job and run it in e-Manager if you like, or continue to run it in e-Tester.
