How to test chat?
Could you help me,
how can I record a script with e-Test for the following test-case: send replay to chat as user1, and verify that user2 can see identical text (and vice versa)?
As far as I understand, two explorers are required to be open at one time, for the first user and for the second. But e-Test allows only one explorer.
Or should I login as user1, send a replay, then log off, then login as user2, verify the replay and so on? Is it possible to make it other way?
So, have anybody tested "chat" with e-Test?
Thank you in advance.
Re: How to test chat?
Interesting question. My application is very different from this but I would imagine, from what you described, that option 2 would lend itself to automation in e-Tester more than option 1. If your application allows you to log on as user1, send a message, logon as user2 and read a message then I woul do that. You could (in theory) databank the message and use the databank value as input in part 1 (with user1) and then as validation in part 2 of the script (user2).
