Playing back scripts with Java applets
In terms of e-tester, I don't see much out there in the way of hints/tips, workarounds, reported bugs and samples; most likely because it is so new.
In my discussions with Empirix support, they tend not to be able to help much, especially, when it comes to working with Java applets. In my case, e-tester does not work at all in our Java applet; after recording a script, it will not playback when it gets to a Java applet.
I called support on this and even directed them to our URL so that they could create some scripts, and they said that the current version would not be able to support our applet.
That led me to inquire about the possibility of playing back keystrokes using VBA. I called support to see if anyone had done such a thing. To my dismay, they did not know of any examples, but, that they would get back to me. That was two days ago.
Has anyone done anything with VBA scripts? Also, has anyone done anything with emulating keystrokes?
Re: Playing back scripts with Java applets
I have done a little bit with Java Applets and have not had any problems. I did hit a small snag when various items change but the workaround for this is a page snapshot. Also when running the Java Applet in E-Load you will need to run it in thick client.
I haven't had to do anything with emulating keystrokes, while running through our Java applets.
